Water Testing Fees and Information

Bacterial water testing is performed at Canton City Public Health Laboratory Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, excluding holidays.

Samples for bacterial water testing MUST be collected in a Canton City Public Health Laboratory bottle and may be dropped off in the Vital Statistics Department at Canton City Public Health located at 420 Market Ave North, Canton OH 44702.

Cost for household testing (enumeration) is $17.00 per test.

The EPA recommends annual Household testing for bacterial contaminants.

Cost for Public water systems (MMO) is $17.00, which includes submission of results to the EPA.

Cost for non-public systems presence/absence is $15.00 per test.

Chemical water testing (Lead and Nitrate/Nitrite) is not conducted by the Canton City Public Health.  However, we are a drop off site for Ream and Haager (R & H). Please visit R & H website at, http://www.rhlab.us/, for details on testing that they conduct. If chemical testing is needed and you would like to drop off the samples at Canton City Public Health, due to strict sampling time limits, samples should be collected on Tuesday and dropped off on Tuesday prior to 16:30 or Wednesday prior to 12:00. All R & H drop offs must have prior authorization. Simply call our office prior to Wednesday so that we can confirm R & H pick up will occur on Wednesday.

Cost for handling is $1.00 per address per day.
