The laboratory provides technical support for the Air Pollution Control, Environmental Health, and Nursing Divisions. Samples are analyzed to help in the diagnosis and treatment of communicable diseases, the determination of unsafe environmental conditions, and the determination and abatement of nuisances. Testing and reporting to our Ohio Department of Health partners is provided for Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, HIV and Syphilis. Please contact one of the above divisions for information about submitting samples. The laboratory also performs microbiological examinations of water. Pollen and Spore counts are reported out daily from April through October (start and stop dates depend on weather conditions). These numbers are available through local media and allergists, or on the Canton City Public Health website.
