Did You Know...

The Ohio Department of Health has asked Ohio University (OU) to collect information about preventing the spread of HIV/AIDS.  As part of the research, OU will be holding the following focus groups at the Stark County Public Library (Main) at 715 Market Ave. N:

  1. Tuesday, July 24, 2018 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm for individuals 18 or older and HIV-negative or unaware of your status.  Click here for more information.
  2. Thursday, August 9, 2018 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm for individuals 18 or older living with HIV/AIDS. Click here for more information.

  • The Health Department now has a Healthy Lifestyle page?  You can check out links to healthy recipes, how to quit smoking, local parks, suicide prevention and Farmer's markets

  • THRIVE has created a Collaborative Organizational Chart as seen here.  THRIVE stands for Toward Health Resiliency for Infant Vitality & Equity).

  • Canton City Health Department publishes a report on its activities annually. The 2017 report is now available and can be seen here.

  • SWAP (Stark Wide Approach to Prevention), a needle (syringe) access program, is available Fridays from 2:00pm to 4:00pm (except legal holidays). Click here for more information.
