LABORATORY INFORMATION

Christina Henning - Laboratory Director
Julie Carman - Laboratory Technician II
Eric Gaskell - Laboratory Technician I

The laboratory provides technical support for the Air Pollution Control, Environmental Health, and Nursing Divisions.  Samples are analyzed to help in the diagnosis and treatment of communicable diseases, the determination of unsafe environmental conditions, and the determination and abatement of nuisances. Testing and reporting to our Ohio Department of Health partners is provided for Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, HIV and Syphilis. Please contact one of the above divisions for information about submitting samples.

The laboratory also performs microbiological examinations of water.  Please click here,  or call the lab, for fees and sample requirements.

Additionally, Pollen and Spore counts are reported out daily from April through October (start and stop dates depend on weather conditions). These numbers are available through local media and allergists, the AccuPollen App and here.

Pollen specific information can be found here.

Mold specific information can be found here.

Daily counts are generally updated prior to noon, M-F, during pollen season.

For more information on pollen and allergy agents, we suggest the websites of the American Academy Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology  or Pollen.com
