The laboratory provides technical support for the Air Pollution Control, Environmental Health, and Nursing Divisions.  Samples are analyzed to help in the diagnosis and treatment of communicable diseases, the determination of unsafe environmental conditions, and the determination and abatement of nuisances. Please contact one of the above divisions for information about submitting samples.  The laboratory also performs microbiological examinations of water.  Please call the lab for fees and sample requirements.

Pollen and Spore counts are reported out daily from April through October (start and stop dates depend on weather conditions). These numbers are availble through local media and allergists, or on the Health Department website. 

Pollen is reported as:  XXX grains/cubic meter of air

Mold is reported as :  XXX spores/cubic meter of air
