What should I bring to my appointment?

Women, Infants, and Children (W.I.C.)
LaVerne Gillis, Supervisor

WIC (Women, Infants and Children) Supplemental Food Program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Ohio Department of Health. The primary WIC goal is to improve maternal and child nutrition and ultimately health status by providing not only supplemental foods (milk, eggs, cheese, infant formula, etc.), but also nutrition education. The WIC Program provides nutrition education for pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, infants, and children under five years of age.

In order to be eligible for the WIC Program, an applicant has to meet all of the following criteria:

1.  Must be categorically eligible (woman, infant, child under 5 years of age).

2.  Must be determined to be at medical or nutritional risk by a WIC health professional.

3.  Must be income eligible as determined by State WIC income guidelines.

Clients are seen on an appointment basis only. To schedule a WIC appointment, call (330) 489-3326 or come to the Canton City Health Department Clinic.
