Mrs. Lucas is a retired educator who served the children and families in the Canton City School District for 31 years. She is an active community leader and participates on the Board of Directors of Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland & East Ohio, Inc. as well as the Family Court Citizens Review Board. She is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Stark County Alumnae chapter and serves on its Social Action, Scholarship, and Policies and Procedures committees. She resides in Ridgewood, Canton with her husband John J. Lucas, Jr. and is a member of Peoples Baptist Church in Canton. Mrs. Lucas was appointed to the Board of Health of Canton City Public Health by Mayor Bernabei in 2019.
